I'm not one to promote another team/karting website but I felt this was way to important to not share! I want to personally thank Kevin from CRP for posting the information on his forum page and making us all aware...Thanks Kevin and Best of Luck at Daytona.

Engine Builders
Be VERY CAREFUL, who you trust on the West Coast to build your Comer motors. A recent customer of ours a few months back sent a motor to a builder out there for a rebuild and did not receive his engine back. He had secretly "marked" his engine in several places and even took pictures of the markings. We are 100% positive he did not receive his motor back and are in the middle of taking legal action to get it back. I am also familiar with a similar story earlier in the year from another racer that raced the Great Lakes Sprint Series. He had sent a motor out to another builder in California and was told his Cylinder was bad and that it would need a new one, he did in fact receive his motor back with a new cylinder, but the builder he had trusted to be honest obviously found something he liked in his because two months later he found that Cylinder at the 2010 Kid Kart Nationals on someone else's kart that was verified by serial number......
This sort of stuff is not new, I have personally seen the same sort of thing about K80's as well. One of our former teammates a couple years ago ran into the same situation when his K80's went out West. It is pretty sad that these folks have either intentional switched parts or have so much going on they can't keep track of whose stuff is whose? (which I seriously doubt).
Are things that out of control out there in the karting world and have they gotten so competitive that this is the stuff they are doing to try and gain the edge.
Like Kevin, if Excel Racing rebuilds you motor we GUARANTEE you'll get YOUR motor back and if parts need replacing you'll get the old parts back.
